Wow i was just realizing how long ago this show actually was......but anyway
i'm not quite sure just how to review this show......it's beyond any words i could possibly
type out or speak or even understand.......now i know i might have said it before and i know
it has shown up in other reviews but when i say this now i mean it.......i really
really mean it.......Reggie was and is to this day the best show i have ever seen. To start
they played two new york shows...both of which i was in attendance for. The first night was at the
Wetlands and it was awesome but for purposes that i cant explain i am choosing to review the
second show which was at CBGB's.
So I must start that Mike, Sophia, and I spent the day
in the city not doing much of anything...
actually we really just walked around a street fair for
a while.....hit a taco bell.....a few
music shops and headed back to Sophia's sisters
apartment........from there Mike and I went
to CB's where we waited outside and made friends
with some cool artsy kids.....well i dont know if
they were all artsy but i think some of them were going
to art schools....so whatever.....we
also met the coolest British kid i have ever seen......he was
so rock.....he was by himself
and pretty much just touring the U.S. hitting a
whole bunch of shows on the way.....he was pretty
much planning his trip around shows.....Rock on British kid! He didnt have a ticket
so we told him to tell the guy at the door that he
floated over in a pickle barrel......I still
dont know how but somehow he got in.....and that
makes me happy. So Mike and I and these like three
artsy kids are the first in line so we get in and
we get right in front of stage and we start
flipping out cause freakin we are about to be
sweat on by Reggie himself. And the show starts and
Koufax plays and they were neat but i was too
busy drooling in anticipation to really listen and then
Ultimate Fakebook played and i never really liked
them but i think they started to grow on me that
night......and then Hot Rod Circuit a.k.a Hot Dog Circus
went on and by golly they did it again and
rocked my soul right out of my body ***shakes head*** they
are so amazing. Andy is just like Whoa
all rocking the lyrics across freakin NYC.......and
Jay is up there drunk like usual yet quite amusing
and the drummer guy Mike was.....well.....not
wearing shoes.......Casey is rock god to extreme
wailing his body to the music and on the floor
and in the air and its hard to even get a pic of him
cause he is just like all over the place.......so
they finish their set and time has come.....
and we are standing there waiting like the
Messiah is about to appear and grant us the power of
immortality or something...well at least thats how
it felt.....Reggie starts setting up all his keyboards
and stuff and well it was kind of funny....actually
it was really funny....see while they were setting up,
the "Monster Ballads" CD was playing and well everyone started to sing.
So just picture all these emo, artsy, show going kids standing there
and in unison and almost perfect harmony at times singing a bunch of
(to put it nicely) cheesy 80's ballads.....James just looked up and started
laughing....i dont blame him it was a funny sight.
So in case you didnt read the last review
i saw Poison this summer and i would just like to
say that Reggie, with the exception of Poison, is the
most metal band.....if you can even fathom that......They
come out dressed in full metal garb....like i dont even know what.
And they start playing...and not only did they play the songs but
they put on a stage show that was just unexplainable and James is right
in front of me and actually he really was sweating on me...like
kinda alot...but thats ok......so they play their songs....like
most of them and i must mention a few.....like "Glove" which was just
so rock......oh yeah and he comes out and he was like wearing the
Michael Jackson red jacket with all the zippers on it....and the damn
bear came out and jumped kinda right on top of me and hair from the bear suit
was all over me at the end of the show.....so i could go on
forever but thats not necessary so i will just mention one last
part of the show which happened to be the last song they played....thats right
COMMON DENOMINATOR came out and sang "Dwarf Invasion".....in full
viking gear including a gong that James pretty much killed at the end....
and Mike was happy cause him and the kid next to him had the microphone and they
were borderline abusing their power of singing into it.....and well as for me
i was busy holding Reggie as he sang cause he felt the need to do it
while ON the crowd...which was fine with me....cause as i said i was
right in front so when he went onto the crowd he was pretty much holding
himself up on me and the kid next to me......***EVEN***.....so the show ended and i got
a guitar pick and the set list and i had one of the best nights of my entire life...
and a story that you can be sure i will be telling my grandkids to the point
where they decide to put me in a home.....ok thats it.....***<3REGGIE***
